Thirsty ... Wednesdays?

I had a really bad day at work yesterday that my brain was just not functional. Thank God to my dear friends who was on the same thinking like me and a long thread on my friends facebook wall, we got together for "some" drinks at my place (which has been the destination lately). I felt bad though coz I told my BabyGurl that I would go to volleyball with her but canceled later on.

My dear friends are lifesavers. We had drinks and laughed all night and made my emotional & hormonal day looked better... even just for a lil bit.

If a Man Wants You by DivineCaroline.com

I saw this posting on facebook and really liked it. It made sense in a way and I can totally relate and I would probably say the same thing to my friends. I wouldn't say that it only implies to men but what if the tables were turned around and this was what men thinks as well..

Just a thought...

If a Man Wants You
If a man wants you, nothing can keep him away.
If he doesn’t want you, nothing can make him stay.
Stop making excuses for a man and his behavior.
Allow your intuition (or spirit) to save you from heartache.
Stop trying to change yourselves for a relationship that’s not meant to be.
Slower is better.

Never live your life for a man before you find what makes you truly happy.
If a relationship ends because the man was not treating you as you deserve
then heck no, you can’t "be friends."
A friendd wouldn’t mistreat a friend.

Don’t settle. If you feel like he is stringing you along, then he probably is.
Don’t stay because you think "it will get better." You’ll be mad at yourself
a year later for staying when things are not better.
The only person you can control in a relationship is you.

Avoid men who’ve got a bunch of children by a bunch of different women.
He didn’t marry them when he got them pregnant,
Why would he treat you any differently?
Always have your own set of friends separate from his.
Maintain boundaries in how a guy treats you.
If something bothers you, speak up.

Never let a man know everything. He will use it against you later.
You cannot change a man’s behavior. Change comes from within.
Don’t EVER make him feel he is more important than you are...even if he has
more education or in a better job. Do not make him into a quasi-god.
He is a man, nothing more nothing less.
Never let a man define who you are.
Never borrow someone else’s man.
Oh Lord! If he cheated with you, he’ll cheat on you.
A man will only treat you the way you allow him to treat you.

Grandma got the moves!

I wasn't sure if the video would load but might as well give it a try! I had to trim the video as well coz iPhones wont allow sending a full length video.

But this is my Grandma dancing her hips off at the Senior Activity Center (where I used to work at) during their December birthday celebration.

My Grandma has hips for dayz!!! Not bad for 86 years old huh?

Love you Grandma!!!

How to Poop @ Work

I got this email from a co-worker today and I was dying from laughing my butt off. This seems gross but if you read on it, you would know exactly which one are you. LMAO!

HOW TO POOP AT WORK
We've all been there but don't like to admit it. We've all been working in our cubicles and suddenly felt something brewing down below. As much as we try to convince ourselves otherwise, the WORK POOP is inevitable. For those who hate pooping at work, following is the Survival Guide for taking a dump at work.

CROP DUSTING When farting, you walk really fast around the office so the smell is not in your area and everyone else gets a whiff but doesn't know where it came from. Be careful when you do this. Do not stop until the full fart has been expelled. Walk an extra 30 feet to make sure the smell has left your pants.

FLY BY The act of scouting out a bathroom before pooping. Walk in and check for other poopers. If there are others in the bathroom, leave and come back again. Be careful not to become a FREQUENT FLYER. People may become suspicious if they catch you constantly going into the bathroom.

ESCAPEE A fart that slips out while taking a leak at the urinal or forcing a poop in a stall. This is usually accompanied by a sudden wave of embarrassment. If you release an escapee, do not acknowledge it. Pretend it did not happen. If you are standing next to the farter in the urinal, pretend you did not hear it. No one likes an escapee. It is uncomfortable for all involved. Making a joke or laughing makes both parties feel uneasy.

JAILBREAK When forcing a poop, several farts slip out at a machine gun pace. This is usually a side effect of diarrhea or a hangover. If this should happen, do not panic. Remain in the stall until everyone has left the bathroom to spare everyone the awkwardness of what just occurred.

COURTESY FLUSH The act of flushing the toilet the instant the poop hits the water. This reduces the amount of air time the poop has to stink up the bathroom. This can help you avoid being caught doing the WALK OF SHAME.

WALK OF SHAME Walking from the stall, to the sink, to the door after you have just stunk up the bathroom. This can be a very uncomfortable moment if someone walks in and busts you. As with farts, it is best to pretend that the smell does not exist. Can be avoided with the use of the COURTESY FLUSH.

OUT OF THE CLOSET POOPER A colleague who poops at work and is damn proud of it. You will often see an Out Of The Closet Pooper enter the bathroom with a newspaper or magazine under their arm. Always look around the office for the Out Of The Closet Pooper before entering the bathroom.

THE POOPING FRIENDS NETWORK (P. F. N.) A group of co-workers who band together to ensure emergency pooping goes off without incident. This group can help you to monitor the whereabouts of Out Of The Closet Poopers, and identify SAFE HAVENS.

SAFE HAVENS A seldom used bathroom somewhere in the building where you can least expect visitors. Try floors that are predominantly of the opposite sex. This will reduce the odds of a pooper of your sex entering the bathroom.

TURD BURGLAR Someone who does not realize that you are in the stall and tries to force the door open. This is one of the most shocking and vulnerable moments that can occur when taking a poop at work. If this occurs, remain in the stall until the Turd Burglar leaves. This way you will avoid all uncomfortable eye contact.

CAMO-COUGH A phony cough that alerts all new entrants into the bathroom that you are in a stall. This can be used to cover-up a WATERMELON, or to alert potential Turd Burglars. Very effective when used in conjunction with an ASTAIRE.

ASTAIRE A subtle toe-tap that is used to alert potential Turd Burglars that you are occupying a stall. This will remove all doubt that the stall is occupied. If you hear an Astaire, leave the bathroom immediately so the pooper can poop in peace.

WATERMELON A poop that creates a loud splash when hitting the toilet water. This is also an embarrassing incident. If you feel a Watermelon coming on, create a diversion. See CAMO-COUGH.

HAVANA OMELET A case of diarrhea that creates a series of loud splashes in the toilet water. Often accompanied by an Escapee. Try using a Camo-Cough with an Astaire. You can also use that moment to noisily procure a handful of toilet paper.

UNCLE TED A bathroom user who seems to linger around forever. Could spend extended lengths of time in front of the mirror or sitting on the pot. An Uncle Ted makes it difficult to relax while on the crapper, as you should always wait to poop when the bathroom is empty. This benefits you as well as the other bathroom attendees.

Have a good Poop Sesh!

When boredom strikes @ work

It was extremely busy at work today but when it settled down we got a lil bored and
decided to just goof around and try this new app where you can collate pictures.

Ugly Christmas Sweater

It was that time of the year once again for some Ugly Christmas Sweaters! And every year, Vka and Chucka would host an Ugle Christmas Sweater party at their place. It's basically a kick off the holidays and Vka's birthday.

I was excited to see what everybody came up with but as usual I wasn't able to take pics as much. (Gosh! I really really need a new camera or even an iPhone4s would do) It was a slow start of a party since everybody was watching the NCAA Volleball match between USC and Pepperdine. It got a lil annoying until Vka turned off that TV and cranked the music up. Shots! Shots! Shots! Haha!

Here is 2 sets of pictures that night...
My personal faves and prolly the ones who has big surprises every year are T and Vka. All those glitters and huge red bow just nailed the look of the night.

Amber on his shredded sweater and Bitter on his diamond Victoria Secret Angel sweater (he used my dads gloves as his wings). My son MaxiBoo opted to a Mexican inspired sweater that he bought from Urban Outfitters that day. As for me, I've been asking my mom if she has an ugly holiday sweater and she kept saying no. It was last minute when i decided to rade her closet and BAM! instantly I found this Vintage Holiday Sweater that I remember her wearing a lot... well... she claims she used to wear it alot. She said she got it from Grandma and she felt bad throwing it away. I died when I felt the shoulder pads but was not excited that the sweater didn't have any waist cinching. But it all worked out and I had a blast that night.

Thanks again Vka and Chucka for hosting another great party! The huge Christmas tree was a hit as always! Can't wait for the next one!

Christmas Spirit

It's been almost 10 since we moved to Seattle and this is the 1st time that we had a Christmas tree. My parents lived in the same apartment complex but different apartments and we never really had a chance to put up a tree. My parents normally has a small one that you can buy from a store and surround it with my dads Angel figurine collection and then I had this lil tree thingie that you hang on your window.

We moved to a house August and my mom and I was excited for Christmas to come and just imagine this very spot for a Christmas tree. She initially put up the tree last week but I was out of town and didn't have a chance to re-decorate it until today. I remember getting this box of purple ornaments from the building monitor from our old apartment and just collaborated those with the ones with what my mom bought.

After 3 hours of decorating this afternoon, my mom went home at midnight with all smiles after seeing the tree. Warms my heart and I can't wait for our next tree.

UW Men's Volleyball Club Team

I was supposed to go to LA for a tournament but things didn't work out the way that I wanted to so I decided to go tag along and support the UW Men's Club Volleyball team. I helped coach them last season but didn't commit this season coz of schedule and I moved further south of the city which requires me to travel farther. Grimace and most especially my son Maxie "forced" me to go since I have nothing to do with my 4 days weekend that I originally requested for my LA trip and I'm glad I went with them.

So the original plan was just supporting them and cheering for them but I ended up coaching the team. One of the coaches talk to me thru Grimace's phone about the gthroughoal for the weekend. And knowing how the UW Club system it was pretty easy for me to figure out what the coach wanted. The game plan is easy, using a very simple system together with aggressive serving and maintaining triple blocks and stable defense. How hard can that be right?

The team won their first match vs Gonzaga 2 which was pretty easy and lucky to have for our first match. It was a perfect 1st match so we can find out chemistry and work on our system and ended up with 2 to none. We had to officiate the next match so it was good break for the boys and watch the competition. Our 2nd match was with Walla Walla who was running late and only had 6 players at that time. Their team was a lil sidetracked probably because they just got there and wasn't as focused just yet. We took advantage of it and played aggressively winning both sets. The third match was pretty tough on our pool against Boise State University. Their team has bigger hitters and looks more together than the other 2 teams that we played. They reak of  young testosterone and they came to win. We killed them the first set but they made a come back with such adrenaline rush and broke down our serve receive and offense. One of our boys who we call Popeye even got heated up and tagged their player oh his nose and made a comment saying "I hit that B*tch on his nose" which was not cool and had to be confronted after the match.

What I learned from coaching the team?
We had a very young team and I understand the hunger and young attitude in the court. When the boys played great they play great and win their match, but when they get up tight, they lose serve receive and lose focus on the match. I didn't have to call time outs coz we gave out too many points but when I see the boys not as cheery and vocal in the court I had to cut it off and explain to them when are they effective most. They have great chemistry and mostly chill inside the court but sometimes they forget to have fun inside the court.

Tournament play...
After having a very chill night in our hotel room and an Olive Garden dinner (which is becoming a tradition when we are in Spokane), the boys was ready to play and had a late start of the matches. This gave them more time to sleep in and relax. Some of the boys slept pretty early too but some had drinks and spent time with the UW Girls and other teams in the corridors and was even called out by security.

We played Gonzaga 2 on our first match again and had an easy match. This was an open ticket going to the next round for us. I told the kids not play around and just play their game. Our 2nd match was against the Boise State University again. I was worried with the way our match on pool play ended that it will get heated up once again. I had to recall our match the day before and take notes inside my head on what we did wrong ending us splitting the match. Relax... that was the key. I told the kids that they are one of the best teams their and coming in 2nd seed and we were 5 points shy from taking the spot and ended up on 3rd. The boys played well on this match and I can barely see huge mistakes that we did the previous day. It was a close fight but BSU's spirit wasn't as loud from the day before. We ended up beating them which puts us in the finals. We are now about to face our rival Washington State University who we haven't played this season at all. They ended up beating the 1st Seed and  host Gonzaga 1 coming in from their 4th seeding.

I would say WSU's system is pretty old school but it works. They throw the ball pretty high to their wings and middles hit a standard 1's, 3's and slides.  This kind of thrown us with our system coz we are used to a very fast plays and keeps up with it with our fast offense. I had to constantly remind the boys to wait and be patient with blocking and beat them with a quick transition leaving our offense mostly with single blocks. Our matches was close, even to a point that on the 2nd set it was 23-23 while we are having troubles on the same rotation as the first set. I had to call a time out and go back to our team goal which is to relax, get a side out and win a point. BOOM! That was what the boys did and we won GOLD!

It felt so good to win the who PIVA Holiday Hustle. Grimace told me that the last time they won first place was about 3 seasons ago. Coming in with a young team and a last minute coaching gig, it felt so good to win and just have a blast playing and coaching. I can tell that they boys had a blast and it was a good bonding time for them as well.

CONGRATULATIONS again boys and can't wait for future tournaments with you. And maybe I'll come to practice once in a while. Haha!

I survived Metro

It was my first day taking the Metro Bus since we moved south of downtown about 3 months ago and it wasn't as bad as I imagined. The only downer was waking up 30 minutes earlier than usual when I drive to work.

My car "Georgie" (short for Gorgeous) gave me signals last Friday that she needs to go to a car spa and get some pampering. It made this dying sound and even the lights was starting to go down and probably close to out.

Riding the Metro didn't suck at all. In our area, I think theres two sets of people on the bus, the ones that was going to work and the rest are the ones who was trying to get the early fresh produce (you know us Asians!)

I wonder how long I can keep up with it though. It was my first day doing it but that's because I had no other choice of transportation while Georgie is out. But what was nice is that I saved about $10 from parking money!

Bus ride home
My ride home wasn't bad. It was a smooth 45 minutes ride with one transfer. The only annoying part is that it's the same time as most schools end and there was so much students waiting for the bus. And to add to that, there was so much "market people" on it too. I hope my next few days/weeks/months will just be as smooth.

MaxieBoo ♥

I was in Spokane,WA over the weekend and coached the UW Men's Volleyball Club team. We got there pretty early and had time to check out the Women's Volleyball action. One of our players Hideo surprised us with this picture. I love my very cuddly Maxie Boo! He "forced" me to go with them in Spokane and I'm glad I did. Got to spend time with my "kids" and see tons of friends.

Love me my MaxieBoo!

Date night with MaxieBoo

This entry is a week late but that's just because old age is kickin' in.

One of my "sons" texted couple of weeks ago and invited me to go to a volleyball match between UW Huskies and WA State. Since I haven't seen any of the matches I immediately sai yes to MaxieBoo. I've been out of town everytime the Huskies are playing home and I'm quite disappointed with my attendance.

Couple of things we wanted to do at date night... Pre-funk, see the match, MOTHER & SON BONDING and a couple of hidden agendas.

MaxieBoo's smile was too precious. You can just see the joy that he is having. When I showed him the pic after taking it, he said "I'm so happy and it shows in the pic."

Huskies won 3-0 vs Cougars!
GO HUSKIES!!!

I was so glad we got to spend time together that night. We are getting closer day by day and I'm glad I was able to help him with some of the stuff that he is going through. Whenever I need somebody to talk to or he sees me looking troubled, he is always there for me.

Our motto for our date night was WINNING!!!
We scored 3-0 that night and its up to you guys to figure out what that means!

Love You MaxieBoo!

#CravingFix - Pho

Been craving Pho for a week now and finally had a chance to get one. Fixes my bad Monday at work as well.

Serving Tacoma Realness!!!

It's been years since the last time I went out in Tacoma,WA. If I'm not mistaken, I was probably 19 or 20 years old the last time I went clubbing there (remember when Destiny's, an under age after hours club?).

But this past weekend, the gang head down south and visit/celebrate a good friends birthday.
JAE BIRD!!!

We started the night in an Irish Pub called O'Malleys which we end up calling O'Nellies just to gay up the place a lil bit since its all Military men and girls there. The place was bright with pool tables and other games. We didn't spend much time there but we definitely downed couple of drinks. I even got Jae and I free shots for her birthday!!! (trick is you let the bartender know that it's somebody's birthday. some bartenders automatically give out free shots... try it!)

I wasn't able to take pics but thanks to my friends and their new iPhone4s, they were able to capture some of the moments. (i'll add more pics when Jae figures out uploading her pics since I heard she broke her camera that night)
Me, Jae and Odessa tearing up the dance floor with our Bye Gurl signs!
SO MUCH FUN dancing with these two.
Us girls again and Conrad joining the fun

We then found this parking lot down the hill from Silverstone and lil 'ol drunk us decided to do some pictorial sesh. The graffiti walls was pretty so we could pass the oppurtunity.

Serving Tacoma Realness!!!
This was a fierce dragon graffiti. Loved it!

Happy Birthday Jae! Had so much fun celebrating your birthday in Tacoma!
There goes my 1 Tacoma visit a year. Haha!

#CravingFix - Flan

Ever since I got back from my recent California trip I've been craving sweets, Flan to be specific. I blame it to my friend Junarta who is very well known to eating all kinds of sweets and desserts.

I had a chance to stop by and get one on Friday after getting my hair done. The salon that I usually go to has a Filipino restaurant at the same complex. So whenever I'm there, I stop by for some desserts and pastries.

Two days later on Sunday, I decided to play some open gym volleyball and the gang decided to eat after. Place of choice? Kawali Grill at Columbia City. At first I was just gonna get my craving fix but for lured into getting some Arroz Caldo (Congee) before hand. I thought everybody was full after all the food we ate but my friend Vka asked me to order some flan.

O M G !
Best Flan ever!!! They finished it with some Caramel and Chocolate syrup around it that gives the flan extra extra flavor. I can say I'm done with my cravings for now but I'm pretty sure this won't take that long for me to get me another round of it.

Damn you Junarta!!!

CPR Certification

My Supervisor sent me a late text message last night informing me about a CPR class that he signed me in last minute. I've been trying to dodge it for the longest time but because I have so much requirements to finish coz my birthday just passed he saw a long list of what I haven't done.

I came in to the class not knowing that there would be a roomful of people taking it. I thought it was just a small group but I was wrong.

There was a lot of information but the goal was to be more hands on so we gain more muscle memory to it and when needed be able to perform.

I named my dummy Sam BUT he is Samantha at night. Lol! We had close to good make out sesh!

After working on the adult Sam they pulled out an infant dummy and I was right, even when she was younger she was already confused werqing some pink and blue ensemble. Haha.

Well I am proud to say that I am a Certified CPR cardholder for the next 2 years. I hope I won't be using this skills that I just learned sometime soon but hen I do, I'm praying I'd be able to help somebody and their family in the future.

Adele on Glee (Rumour Has It/Someone Like You)

This video came out probably a week ago but wasn't really able to see it. The episode just literally got done and I was just shocked with it's outcome. I just wish they show the part when Santana saw Fin whispering something to Rachel and she thought Fin was telling Rachel that she was a lesbian and slapped him.

Such a powerful ending of the episode!

Vancouver Birthday 2011

It's been ages since I celebrated my birthday in Vancouver, BC. For almost 5 years since I moved here in Seattle, I've been celebrating my birthday in Vancouver because their NAGVA tournament always falls on the same weekend as my birthday weekend. For the past 2 years, I wasn't able to celebrate it there coz my passport expired and finally got it renewed February this year when I was down in San Francisco (I know it's stupid coz the Philippine Consulate is located there and whever they come to Seattle it's jam packed)

So VGVA didn't do their normal 2 days tournament this year but hosted a one day tournament benefiting Movember. I sent an invite to most of my closest friends about the tournament and about celebrating my birthday again up there. A lot responsed and I was immediately excited.
It was so good to see everybody together again, our Pacific Northwest family. It's been forever since I've been around these people who are really close to my heart and I couldn't ask for a good come back to Vancouver.
I wasn't able to take as much pictures from my iPhone but a friend of mine took a lot from his camera but that will be in another entry.

My loving friend Lee and I went home early Friday and ended doing our usual girl talk. We barely see each other now coz we are both busy but when we do see each other, we make sure that we give each other time to really catch up. This time was different though, we were not in a corner of the gym talking like the usual. We were at his place and did it slumber party style over toooooons of food.

Here are 2 samples...
Lee makes one of the best Adobo (Filipino Teriyaki... maybe) I've ever had. He initially told me that he as domestic anymore so he won't be making his famous adobo but surprise! surprise! Thats the first thing I smelled as soon as I get in his apartment.

He then asked me if I wanted some ice cream since we have more to catch up on. Mind you, we had Chips and Salsa before the Adobo too. This vanilla chocolate with cornflakes was so good! That I've been wanting to get me some since I got back to Seattle. haha!

Lee had peanuts after this but I could't handle it anymore that I felt like i was about to explode from eating all this good. haha!

The next day we played our one day tournament and our team was called "Allergic to Ugly". Lee makes up the most interesting team names ever. Our first team name was Combo #1 pertaining to ordering in a Asian Restaurant. Haha! We ended up at 4th place which suck coz we thought we already got 3rd (again!) but we ended up playing the other team who was in the losers bracket.

Anyways, that night, our friend Cliff hosted a pre-funk party before we go out and celebrate my birthday. It's been forever since I've been to his place that I forgot how AMAZING the view from his 30th floor apartment is. I only have 2 pictures again but there will be more from my other entry.

The view from the balcony was breath taking over looking downtown Vancouver,BC.

A park across the street from his place.

At the pre-funk party, this 2 were like lovebirds that you can't separate. They looked so cute that it makes me smile.

After the crazy night, I refused to go home without eating some Fritz Poutines. Eversince I started going to Vancouver, it is a must that I go there and have a bowl of it. haha! IT"S SO GOOD!

I shared a large bowl of Poutine with my son Maxie and after we finished ours, he murdered our friend KK's bowl and passed out. LOL!

On Sunday, all I think of was family day. Apparently, the volleyball gang signed me up on league but I really wanted to see my cousins. It's been 2 years since I've seen them and it will just complete my birthday weekend.

We were supposed to go to Dimsum but it was packed that I told them that I will just meet them after the volleyball gang did dimsum. We all agreed to meet up for sushi which is closeby anyways.

My, Ate Grace and Gino. We were so irritated with the manager. Since I've already had lunch all I wanted was a Green Tea Ice Cream but he said that if 1 is doing all you can eat then the whole table to should be doing the same thing. He agreed to let me and Maxie order desert but said that we are not allowed to touch everybody's food. HOW RUDE! I don't recommend Kingsway Sushi at all! Rude employees everywhere!!!

Here's is the rest of the gang outside the sushi place.
My, Ate Jemma, Ate Grace, Glenda, Me and Gino. The lil girl is Ate Jems 1st daughter Ali who barely remembers me since I've only see her ones! Oh! And thanks Ate Jem for watching our match the previous day!

Here is Ate Jems 2nd baby Sophia. She is super cute!

I had so much fun in Vancouver that I want to go back again soon. It is like home away from home just like Portland and the Bar Area for me. Next stop, San Francisco and Sacramento!

Columbia River and I-90 Vantage crossing

I went to Spokane,WA last weekend to play a USAV Volleyball tournament together with the West Side or should I say Team Fish. We had such a great weekend together starting of with a late start leaving Seattle but the drive was a lot of fun.

On our way back Momma Fish asked us if we wanted to see the Columbia River Vantage crossing look out. Of course we didn't say no since we all wanted to stretch our legs and massage our bums after thru half way thru drive.

When we got there I was just mesmerized with the view. If you happen to don't know, I love this kind of places. I love overlooking views like this and it relaxes me.

My son Nemo and I decided to walk further down just to take more pictures. While the Momma Fish, Grimace, Popeyes and Bratwurst decided to stay up right by where we parked.

Of course I have to have a picture of me with the view of the Vantage bridge/crossing

This is how far down we went and imagine the hike back up. I was dying!!!

Hopefully I get yo stop by again the next time I visit the east side. Apparently there's statue horses up the hill and it would be fun to take pictures there.

Mommy is sick

Yesterday..

I got a text around lunch time from a number that I am not familiar with. Little did i know that it was my lil brother texting me using a free messaging app. He told me that he checked mom in to an Emergency room close by where I work. According to his text, my mom was having some chest pains and heart palpitations.
The last time she was in an ER or was admitted to the hospital was for the same thing about two years ago. This is nothing new to us/me since mom has occasional episodes like this ever since I was younger. I asked my brother to stay with her until I got done with work. BOO me coz I was late for work that day and couldn't leave early.

Once I got there I immediately asked my mom if she was stressing about something. Knowing her, I knew that something was bugging her since she was all over the place the previous day/night and went to bed pretty early than normal. I wouldn't say what it is but I have my suspicions. She confirmed my instincts but not fully. BINGO! I knew that it was the only reason that she would be stressing about something and I feel for her.
She was a little weak when I got there and had really low blood pressure. Her normal BP is 130/90 but she fluctuated from 120/70's down to 112/63's which was really scary. I asked my brother what exactly was she doing before leaving home for the ER. He said that they were eating breakfast and then she decided to lay down for a lil but while my brother took a shower to get ready for work. My brother said that as soon as he  out of the shower my mom asked him to accompany her to the ER. My mom added that she did a lil gardening earlier that morning and she thinks that she got tired fast.

After about 2 hours of being there, I haven't heard anything from the medical staff. I've seen them in and out of this one room and just keeps giving us little glares since our door was wide open. A nurse came in a lil later and informed us that the doctor decided to keep her for observation. The nurse asked if the doctor has checked with us and I immediately responded a huge "NO!". He said he will check with the doctor and apologized to be the one who told us first about her status. Couple of minutes later there was still no doctor and surprise, surprise, there was a shift change of  ER docs. This is very typical in the ER since this happens in the hospital I work at. The doc finally came in and informed us about the admit and explained that they just want to monitor her overnight and see what was causing her chest pains and palpitations. I immediately agreed to the doctor because I'd rather have her stay there and be monitored than go home and self diagnose.

Today...

I got a call from her around 5:10am just like any other weekday. I would normally ask her to wake me up in the morning since I always have a hard time waking up from my alarm (i know, I'm too old for this but I love it when mom wakes me up. Reminds me of my childhood days. haha!). I immediately picked up the phone since I've bn waking up every hour to check on my phone if my brother called or the hospital called. I asked her what was she doing up early and she said that the nurse was in her just to check on her and wanted to give me my wake up call. She sounds way better than yesterday and was able to converse with me stronger. She said that she feels a lot better today and was not as dizzy and weak as yesterday. We are both hoping that she gets to go home today and rest in own bed. The last thing she wants to happen is for her to stay ithe hospital longer coz that doesn't normally work for her and would rather be home. But then again, we shall see.

Later today...

I called my mom at lunch time and found out that she is discharged from the hospital. She is just waiting for discharge instructions and according to the doctor, her heart meds will be switched back to the one that works for her better. Mom was waiting for my brother to go back to the hospital as well since he had to go home and get our furnace appointment done, our house feels like a huge freezer already with the weather change.

I got home and Mom looks like nothing happened. She looks really strong and a lil bit stress free. Lola (Grandma) Emma was at home together with a friend to visit her and I bet she was happy to see her mom. I'm just so relived that mom is OK now. Hopefully she won't have another episode like this anytime soon. I'm working on getting her a better Primary Care Physician and hopefully a heart specialist where i work at so she can move forward and have better care for her condition.

I would like to take this opportunity to Thank all my family and friends who replied to my status on fb asking for prayers for my mom.

♥!

Adam Levine & Anne V in Russian Vogue

YUMMY!!!

My heartbeat stop for a second as soon as I saw these pictures online. It is no lie that I am in love with Adam Levine and his sexiness and adding to his hotness is girlfriend Anne Vyalitsyna aka Anne V in the modeling industry.

The duo posed for Vogue Russia almost naked or maybe they are. They compliment each other well but I can't stop staring at Adam specifically.  I mean, if the whole music thing doesn't work for him anymore he can definitely do some modeling.

Adam's band Maroon 5 is rumored to be performing to Victoria Secret's Fashion show to be aired on November 29 while Anne V struts her stuff on the runway for the 2nd time.

Enjoy the pictures...

And as a bonus, I found this video clip of their shoot.

Grandma Love

I barely get to see my Grandma even when we lived in the same apartment building. She came to visit last night since my Uncle was coming in for Florida.

I miss her so much and I'm glad I got to see her. Ever since I was a kid I've been really close to her and all cuddly with her whenever I see her.

It definitely woke me up that I have to spend more time with her and visit her more.
Love you Grandma!

Free Flexor Infomercial

They can't be serious... First it was the Shake Weight and now its the Free Flexor. The marketing teams of these products needs to get some or something. This is hilarity at its best!

Wait until you hear the comments of the "real people" they found to try on their product.

WOW!!!

Miss Delta Portland

I was down in Portland over the weekend for couple of events. First it was a fundraising event (ill make another entry for it) for the Roosevelt Lady Riders Women's Volleyball team and second, a good friend of ours who we call Choot-it (meaning "shoot it", a term used in volleyball where you ask for a fast set outside) is having a small get together after working for a year in China (well he is just visiting/working) mixed in with a surprise party for our friend Raspy Geisha.

On Sunday, the Lady Riders had a volleyball camp lead by Kuya (big brother) Allan and coaches and of course before driving back to Seattle we had to stop by for some good good. We all then craved some Southern food and Auntie D was on it and Yelp a good place right away.

Auntie D found this place called Miss Delta and it was the best choice!!! The place was so relaxed and cozy with minimal interiors. Brick walls, interesting painting, a bar right when you get in, it has a downstairs which I'm assuming has more sitting space and the server we had was so nice. The place definitely brings some amazing Southern food to the Pacific Northwest.

For starters (not pictured, was so hungry and forgot to take pics and we just dove in like hungry monsters)...

Hush Puppies - deep fried cornmeal batter with diced Jalapenos
Fried Okra - I don't like Okra that much but damn they were good!
Sweet Yam Fries served with Creole Mustard - OMG! It was AMAZING!!!

And then the real good stuff...

I ordered Jambalaya knowing that it has shrimp in it. I'm allergic to some seafood and shrimps are definitely one (don't worry, I only have two small pieces out of probably 10 shrimps which i shared to the rest of the group). Jambalaya is one of my favorites ever and couldn't resist to order one wherever and whenever. It was so good and definitely has that flavor that I'm looking for.

Aunty D and KK ordered some good ole fried food, Chicken and Waffles served with some maple syrup and  and Pecan butter. Of course I wouldn't say NO to Chicken so i had a bite of it and the waffles and it was just HEAVEN!!!

Kuya Allan had some Gumbo. I say, what is Southern food without any of this? And yet again I had to try it and soon as my spoon touched my lips it definitely brought me back when i visited New Orleans back in January 2010 and 2011 for a NAGVA tournament. I probably had Gumbo every night of my 5 night stay both years. LOL!

Joshie is not a big fan of seafood so he had minimal choices than the rest of us. But these Tacos was so GOOD! It's packed with everything you wish a Taco would have and soon as I had a bite I was just in a mmmmmm moment! HAHA! I even broke the deep fried taco shell too. LOL! Sorry Joshie!

And of course, what is Southern food without ordering some Beignets to finish of our meal. Quick Tip: the more powdered sugar you smolder with it, the better it taste!

I totally recommend this place if you are craving for some Southern grub and I would definitely go back when I get a chance on my next visit!

not using xoxo,

Top 10 Reasons Why There Couldn’t Be a Filipino-American US President by David Letterman

Found this posting on Facebook and thought it was hilarious coz its so true. Haha! I tried looking for a video but I couldn't find one just to see if David Letterman really did this on his show. Oh, well still funny!
If you are Pinoy (Filipino) then you will definitely get this.

Top 10 Reasons Why There Couldn't Be a Filipino-American US President

By David Letterman

10. The White House is not big enough for in-laws and extended relatives.
9. There are not enough parking spaces at the White House for 2 Honda Civics,
2 Toyota Land Cruisers, 3 Toyota Corollas, a Mercedes Benz, a BMW , and
an MPV (My Pinoy Van).

8. Dignitaries generally are intimidated by eating with their fingers at State dinners.

7. There are too many dining rooms in the White House – where will they put
the picture of the Last Supper?

6. The White House walls are not big enough to hold a pair of giant wooden
spoon and fork.

5. Secret Service staff won't respond to "psst… psst" or "hoy.hoyhoy!"

4. Secret Service staff will not be comfortable driving the presidential car with a Holy Rosary hanging on the rear view mirror, or the statue of the Santo Nino on the dashboard.

3. No budget allocation to purchase a Karaoke music-machine for every room in the White House.

2. State dinners do not allow "Take Home".

AND THE NUMBER I REASON WHY THERE COULDN'T BE A FILIPINO-AMERICAN U.S. PRESIDENT IS…

1. Air Force One does not allow overweight Balikbayan boxes!

Thirsty Thursday @ Home

I've been sick the whole week and it progressed day by day. Started with itchy throat on Monday and fever on Tuesday. By Wednesday, I can feel my Asthma just lingering around together with some chest congestion. And here comes Thursday, they all came together as if it was a grand reunion of the whole week. LOL!

I've been thinking of puffing some from my inhaler but I'm not one to rely on it. I've had inhalers for the longest time but because of stories that I've heard from the inhaler dependents, I am too scared to be one.

I decided to take two puffs on Thursday finally. Lil stupid me didn't check my puff count and thought off looking at the expiration date. All I know was this was subscribed to me last on 2009. Sure enough, my inhaler has been expired since January of 2009. No wonder my throat has been extra dry whenever I take it whenever I have attacks when I'm playing volleyball or having bad allergy attacks.

I called my friend who works for the clinic if he can fit me in to a last minute appointment and thankfully there was one right after work. I was able to get three years supply of inhalers and I am good to go! YAY!

I am known for some Thirsty Thursdays event together with my closest friends. The club is not too packed for us to dance and get our drinks without too many hassles. PLUS! There is Amateur Strip Show (ASS) hosted by our favorite Lady Chablis.

It was perfect timing that my Pinoy (Filipino) Bakla's (Gays) have planned to hang out at my place and chill with food and drinks. Even though I'm bummed that I missed Thirsty Thursdays, Thirsty Thursdays was sent to me. Haha!

They brought some DiGiorno for dinner and some Chicken.

We chilled in my living room with some Vodka and some Volleyball action on my DVR!

Hopefully I get better soon. I hate being sick and hopefully this is it for my flu season sickness. I've paid my dues and hopefully NO MORE! As soon as that free flu shot at work comes out, I'll be first in line.
